Sustainability
When building our new farm in 2022/23, we placed great emphasis on sustainability:
- The outer walls were built from 50-centimeter-thick, fired bricks - this meant that non-ecological insulation materials could be dispensed with
- We have sandblasted cupboards that were made by our grandfather about 100 years ago from his own wood in Tyrolean style and now use them as storage cupboards
- We used wood from our own forest for the interior fittings such as banisters, rafters and beams
- the pantry kitchens were custom-made for the two studios from our own wood, as were many other things
- We have also lovingly stored and often refurbished high-quality older and newer toys, some of which have been individually handcrafted by us, and now make them available to our young guests
- the private outdoor pool (4 x 8 m) next to the farmhouse is filled with its own spring water and heated to pleasant temperatures in summer with analog solar carpets and is well insulated against heat loss
- In addition to some cabinets, many of our other pieces of furniture have been sandblasted and/or painted, are as good as new and exude the charm of the tried and tested
- For the reading enthusiasts among our guests, we provide many books for all ages, collected over generations
- Even our ski racks in the ski room are refurbished racks from decades gone by
- The entire farm is heated with wood chips from our own forest
- the 70-year-old, huge “cooking machine”, i.e. the central kitchen stove from the old farmhouse, was renovated in Upper Austria and now once again provides the cozy, crackling warmth of real stoves
